16 Candles X2 plus a little change

Sooo…..it’s my birthday. Why are birthdays so weird when you’re old?? We need to take it back to your 6th, 7th, and 8th birthday, where there are no expectations. You’re just excited to eat some cake, maybe some pizza, and rip the paper off a package or two. When you were 7, you didn’t sit around and compare yourselves to other 7 year olds. “Man, Tony is riding a bike without training wheels…AND he can do some multiplication. WHAT AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE!!!” Nah, none of that happened. You were just like damn, I’m 7….that’s gangsta. But it’s so hard to be your thirties and not complain or be like what am I doing??? Anyways, I’m grateful to be having a birthday, have awesome homies, and kick it with you all on the Interwebs.

Yesterday, I didn’t get a job I REALLY wanted so that sucked. I just have to keep applying and trust there’s some kinda plan in this crazy universe. I consoled myself with pizza and beer which felt like a good way to end my early thirties. I will be more sophisticated as I move into my mid thirties, note to self.

On the up side, today I got notified that I get to be a SWEAT PINK AMBASSADOR for fit approach!!! That was pretty amazing and makes me feel like a real blogger! Holla! Check out my fancy new badge on the side bar.

Thank goodness I have my 10k race this weekend because my fitness has been on slacker central this past week or so. April is around the corner and I’m going to have to be serious with my SF Marathon training! EEK, scared!!! But also excited.

Birthday Week has been filled with food and booze and tonight will be no different since it’s the actual day and I get to spend the evening with my wonderful boyfriend. Seriously, he’s my Jake Ryan….that’s a sixteen candles reference for all the bebes out there. It’s a great movie but it’s from the 80’s so warning there’s definitely a racist stereotyped character in there but if you can get past that it’s a gem. MOLLY RINGWALD FOREVER!

Let’s get to it, shall we?

WORKOUTS FOR THE WEEK OF FEB 9TH
MONDAY – 5.1 MILE RUN
THURSDAY – 5.1 MILE RUN
SATURDAY – 9 MILES (HOOOLLLLLAAA)
SUNDAY – 3 MILE WALK WITH THE HOMIE

I feel really good about my workouts for this week. It’s a shame that I ate so terribly but when it’s your Boyfriend’s birthday it’s best to just have a good time and relish each moment….of that fork going into your mouth, followed by wine, oh the beer, and weren’t there some pomegrante mimosas? Ya get my drift, homies.

Too bad, that effer, the scale wanted to show me that I partied about 3 pounds worth. BLARGHHH!!!

This week I’m hoping for another three runs and some kind of cross training workout. Maybe another Hipline class but probably some kind of free Comcast workout.

Right now, I’m procrastinating on my 5 mile run….straight up slacker status. I did already hit up the grocery store and do a majority of my grocery shopping for the week. WIN. I have some dishes to unload and throw in another sink full into my dishwasher. Seriously, I love my dishwasher.

I’ve been toying with this whole marathon idea. Twenty six point two miles. It’s epic and kind of crazy. I’ve looked at some marathon training plans and feel like I could be ready for the San Francisco July Marathon. I don’t know though, maybe it’s crazy. It’s a LOT of running and a big toll on your body. I’m not sure yet but perhaps after my half marathon in Livermore I’ll have a better idea of what my body can really do.

Alright peeps, I hope you enjoy your Monday and manage to get some fitness in as well. I’m gonna get my run on even if I have to wait until later today when it cools down a bit. It’s 70 right now in the beautiful Bay Area (can you say global warming?) and I’m drinking my Kale Yeah! juice enjoying all the sun in my penthouse apartment….thinking about how I need to run.

It will happen!
Get your fit on!

Happy 2014 Beeaatches! I’m back!

Bloggy World! I’m back!

My apologies, I’ve fallen off the planet due to the holidays and my vacation. In short, it was AMAZING to have so much time away from my suck ass job and spend time with familia, sleeping in, seeing friends, and more!

HOLIDAY RECAP
• Dec 23rd worked a half day (hellllooo vacation) and did my remaining holiday shopping. I took a little break to met up with my homegirl for a yummy Anchor Steam and chicken panini.
• Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
Let the big Mexican Familia craziness begin! Tamales, presents, San Jose and Watsonville! Oh and my cousin got engaged!!!
• Dec 26th – the boy and I just laid on the couch and completely vegged out! Despicable Me 2 – so adorbs and hilarious. Bonus – Pharrell did the soundtrack and the musica is super good. The Purge with Ethan Hawke was a premise that makes you think but fell short as a thriller. Red Box it peeps.

BRUNCH, BRUNCH, & more BRUNCH
• Lakeshore Cafe, my fav! Me and the boy are regulars here and the vibe is great. We love the weekend strawberry mimosa.
• Mission Beach Cafe, SF! Met my besties for our annual NYE brunch. Giant Mimosas and a super delish crab and shrimp Benedict with yummy home fries. Heart this place!
• Grand Lake Kitchen, Oakland. I tried the something new but the pork belly hash remains king! Plus we’re bummed they no longer carry Pacificos! Those bastards!
• last but not least – Our Casita!
We hosted friends for scrambles, potatoes, mimosas, and coffee! Way to much fun and noon turned into bourbon and that turned into 6pm! Best NY day brunch ever!

NYE itself was pretty mellow with wine and dinner at a friends new house. However they made a kale and butternut squash lasagna that was seriously so good! Had to mention!

I was off from 12/23 at noon through 1/2. It was lovely so basically I went to work on Friday ( I’m on committee that met otherwise I would have taken that off too!) and was back to the weekend.

I also have some goalie goals for the New Year but that may need to be another post. Oooh and we went wine tasting in Sonoma 😉
