I’ve been dranking and hot gluing and bachelorette planning

You don’t ever think that one day you’ll be a grown up, stressed out over custom heart shaped glasses but that’s life for you.

I’m a little over a month out in planning my one and only sister’s bachelorette party and I fluctuate between excitement, anger and being overwhelmed. I know if my sister was planning this type of event it would be cute, fun, and perfect. I’m having some issues since her other two bridesmaids suck. If it was just them there would be nothing planned except for a last minute night out with zero thought at all…..which I wouldn’t mind in the least but that’s not my sister’s steez. The chica scrapbooks, hot glues, and successfully does pinterest crafts. I mean c’mon I can’t toss her a shot and throw her in a dive bar and call it party. Plus my sister hates dive bars.

So we’re brunching and wine tasting with an optional sleep over.  I’ve booked the limo shuttle (holla) and have reservations secured at winery #1, waiting on winery #2 and winery #3. I have a brunch menu planned and favors just ordered!

The sash already came and it’s even cuter in person. The custom tattoos are on their way and I just placed my order for the custom sunglasses. The theme is “Drunk In Love” so the glasses will have that on one side and each girl’s name on the other. BAM. Also PS I’m super pleased with my idea for a Drunk In Love theme.

Everything else is just going to be streamers, hand made signs, and glitter spray glued to champagne bottles and plastic cups. I think it will be cute or a total pin fail but at least I tried, right?? I really wanted to order paper invitations but I just don’t think that’s going to happen especially since I’m going alone.

I’m asking the two other bridesmaids to do lunch so keep your fingers crossed.

Alright, I’m off to call wineries and price glitter.

Besos,

Run Livermore, Drink Wine, and Treat Yo’self

Livermore Half Completed!!!!

This course was beautiful even with those two surprise hills between miles seven and nine. I think my outfit choice was bad and not fitting given the weather but we’ll get to that later.  First a few photos of the race to entice you to run it next year!!! photo 1 I apologize for my poor photo taking skills on my hella sad iphone 4. The morning was cool which is always great for a race. You can kinda see the banner for the race in the shot above. The race starts and ends in downtown Livermore which is super cute and quaint. I’m really having a hard time figuring out how to dress as I run longer distances. I REALLY hate being cold and shivering my butt off before a race but I’m slowly realizing you have to suck it up butter cup and do it. Otherwise you end up full on sweat monster. Despite my 5 foot nothing status, I sweat like a man. I just hate shivering 30 minutes before a race…it pains me but sigh, guess I need to get over it.

Here we are as we slowly move out of downtown and the suburbs and into the trails and wine country.

I wish my photos came out better but you can see the vineyards and rolling hills. It was super beautiful.

My awesome medal with removal straps so you can have a coaster to commemorate your race success!

We also received this fabulous little stemless wineglass for post race wine tasting! It was actual glass which did lead to a lot of glass breaking in the wine tasting area. That’s what happens when a bunch of possibly dehydrated runners start drinking 🙂 Not gonna lie, I can’t wait to drink from this bad boy at home and feel hella accomplished!

2 HOURS AND SIX MINUTES! GO ME!

(I had to use the ladies on the course which added 2 minutes – bummer – but given the hills and that, I’m stoked with my time. Oh yeah and basically taking the past two weeks off for “Random Birthday Activities.”)

You can see the wine tasting festival tents in the background there. All the good kids are stretching. I was drinking water and chopping on a banana.

photo 2 copy 3It was super hot after the race and I decided on a little BBQ and a beer to celebrate my race! Hooraz!

This was a super beautiful course and I will probably do it again next year if I don’t succumb to the San Francisco Rock N Roll Half.  I only have two runs planned for this week since it’s my “recovery week” and on April 6th my official San Francisco Marathon training begins!!! I have several plans saved on pinterest but need to sit down and actually come up with something useable/feasible. I’m really nervous about fueling, to carry or not carry water, and getting a running belt for all this crap. I feel like when you go from half to full, shiz starts getting real.

Alright kids, I hope you had a great weekend and Monday isn’t too hectic.

Sending much love and besos,

LA to Boston to Brooklyn and back

Monday. You’re never a pleasant surprise.

I missed you all over the weekend, Interwebs. It was a quick and busy one so there was no time for hoping on for an update. But of course, in true Monday slacker style, I am here now. Friday was spent doing wash, packing, and trying to get organized for our quick LA familia trip. I tried to get to bed at a decent hour so I could squeeze out a run prior to our flight. AND BAM! LOOK WHO MADE HER SATURDAY MORNING HAPPEN!

9 miles

I managed to hit my 9 with a little change and head home for some showering and airport drinking! I have to say I was mostly impressed with what a good run it was and how solid I felt afterwards. Sometimes a run kicks your booty to the curb but that wasn’t my Saturday. HOORAZ! A lovely little flight out of terminal two was my treat for the day. Seriously drinking on the way to somewhere is one of my most favs and the airport bar is one of the most interesting places to drink. I strongly encourage this!

My favorite was the Santa Barbara Grenache blend! Adore!

The rest of the time was spent with the Boy’s familia so not much to report there. On the way back I did pick up Runner’s World Boston edition and that was a really good read. Some of the pieces made me super sad bastard teary eyed but I recommend you all pick up a copy. SUPER INSPIRING. People are just crazy amazing. There’s also a couple of articles for beginning runners so that’s pretty nice too.

Speaking of picking up ish. I saw an article on XOJane for the Socal curls and I kinda want to buy one. It seems legit but I’m tettering. It also could be a waste of $20. Anyways. Here’s the little video. What do you guys think? I’m all about sleeping with something and waking up with cute hair. That whole sock bun thing didn’t work for me because I have a ton of hair and this seems kinda legit. Arghh!!! Anyways let me know what you think??

Hmmm… hope that works. I feel like I have a million little projects I want to do but there’s never enough time. Or maybe I just manage my time poorly but seriously you need some tv, relax, eat bad food time! It’s essential to decompress. Maybe I’ll start a little project page on here for things I want to tackle. Ugh, my closet is a big one. So is my budget. I also still have two boxes of make-up, jewelry, random stuff that are not all the way unpacked from our big move-in this October. I know sad, right? Moving right before the holidays was a HUGE MISTAKE! Avoid this at all cost. Plus it was our first time moving in together so we did get rid of a lot of stuff but these last two little boxes….just are constantly being moved around. It was a Friday project but I napped before I did laundry so there you have it. SLACKER!

CRAZYNESS!!! I will by in NYC at this time next month! Well technically I’ll be flying Virgin right now this time next month but there you have it. I’m BEYOND excited for Brooklyn. I also have a half the weekend before with my sister (10k, baby) so that will be fun! I want to add some more races but we really need to figure out this vacation thing. Although I think I’m learning towards Mexico (cheaper) because it turns out there may be a 2015 wedding in Aruba and a destination 40th birthday for friends/family so that would be a HUGE chunk of change right there. Money, I hate you!!!! But only because I don’t have more 😦
I did bring a microwavable lunch item today, cheaper than buying on campus, and there was no time to make anything since we came back from LA. I think budget wise I may need to just invest in a handful to keep at work to bring the finances under control.

Let’s have some more coffee and get this crazy pants of a day shaking. Oh, I’m going to BAR METHOD THIS WEEK!!! FINALLY!!! Maybe later tonight I will squeeze in a weekly workout post. Sorry I’m super boring today! Don’t worry, it’ Monday all hell will break loose and I’ll be back to being angry and insane by tomorrow.

Coffee covered besos,
